So You Want To Work In Animal Care?

Animal Rescue Konsortium , Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Specifically, the organization provides medical and adoption services for injured and/or abandoned domesticated animals including birds, exotics, and non-venomous reptiles and for medical and rehabilitative services for injured and orphaned wildlife. Animal Rescue Konsortium, Inc. partners with Volusia County's licensed wildlife rehabilitator and community animal control personnel. Through presentations and written material the organization also educates the public regarding the community's responsibility toward the care and safety of all animals.

Adoption - Medical and Boarding are Expensive

Animal Rescue Konsortium, Inc. solicits adoptees for abandoned cats, dogs, birds, exotics, and other domesticated animals through personal interviews and also in partnership with PetCo of Orange City. Once an animal is deemed healthy and ready for adoption, it is placed in loving foster care until a suitable adopter is found.

The adoption process is strict. Dogs are tested with cats and children prior to adoption. Potential adopters are carefully screened and their former veterinarians, landlords, employees, and references are contacted.

The adoption form is extensive and adoption fees vary dependent on the type of animal. All pets adopted out are healthy, have received the appropriate medical care, and are up-to-date with shots.

Won't you please consider underwriting the cost of an animal awaiting adoption? $35 per month will go a long way toward helping our lost friends.

Your donations are tax-deductible.

Over 15,000 domesticated animals are euthanized annually in Volusia County. The cost for this unnecessary destruction of life is in the tens of thousands. Disenchanted pet owners abandon their animals at a phenomenal rate to fend for themselves. The feral cat colonies in our county are multiplying. Snakes and iguanas are tossed into the woods; ferrets and rabbits are let loose because they won't use a litter box; pregnant cats and dogs tossed out beside dumpsters, dogs are beaten into submission; birds are housed in inappropriate cages; and owners weary of the attention their pets need even take them to a veterinarian to be euthanized. These heartbroking stories abound.

But YOU can make a difference. Won't you please consider underwriting the cost of an animal adoption? $35 per month will go a long way toward helping one of our lost and rejected friends.

Tom & Jerry lost their family in a car accident. They lived at the hospital until someone was found who would adopt them together.
Buddy was a lovable, energetic hound dog adopted out three times and rejected three times. It cost $500 to relocate him to a 1000 acre farm in Virginia with playmates that include hounds, ducks, and horses. He's loved and he is happy!
Discarded because he was a feather picker determined to end his life, Pollock, a Cockatoo, for over a year controlled the paperwork at Florida Wild. Often though, files were left in disarray! Then one day a woman saw Pollock, fell in love with him and now he's at his forever home!
